Katie Douglas may be young, but from the length of time it takes to scroll her hefty film and TV credits, she’s far from the inexperienced ingénue type. Since appearing in Ginny & Georgia and garnering praise for her performance as the titular Lisa in Believe Me: The Abduction of Lisa McVey, Douglas has been enjoying increased attention for her acting talents.

Given the fact the 22-year-old Canadian actress has been in the business of screen acting since the tender age of six, it’s not wholly unexpected. From her previous shows and films to her many creative interests, here’s what we know about the budding star for those whose curiosity has been piqued. And yes, we’ve done the digging and believe we know Katie Douglas’ height.
Katie Douglas’ age, birthday and aspirations
Katie Emily Douglas (to use her government name) was born a Libra on October 19, 1998, in Burlington, Ontario in Canada. Now 22, Douglas began acting in theatre and TV at six years old. “I was actually very young when I was given the opportunity [to act],” Douglas said in an interview. “I think I did some kind of after-school summer camp and I was six years old. We had put on a play and one of the parents in the audience happened to be a casting agent. They sent me off to sign a contract and that’s how I got started.”
Starting so early has led to veracity when it comes to Douglas’ age compared to the characters she’s portraying—though from her very fresh-faced cherubic look we can’t imagine it’d have been a huge issue either way. Believe Me was initially released in 2018, before enjoying a current halo of popularity in 2021 now that the true-crime television film has made its way to Netflix. Douglas plays the 17-year-old Lisa McVey, which means she was very close to McVey’s real age when she was embodying her. Here for those curious, the rest of the Believe Me cast vs. their real life counterparts.

Per an interview, Douglas is keen to expand her work in TV and film to behind the camera as well. Though she’s said she’ll “always have a love affair with acting” she has explained that she’s studying film at university to follow her true goal. “I have a lot of ideas and I think that’s where my passion is; making a film from a different perspective.”
What else has Katie Douglas been in?
As well as the harrowing Believe Me, Douglas has also appeared in the recent Netflix series Ginny & Georgia. The series sees her as the character Abby, part of the friendship group at the new school the title character Ginny moves to.

Douglas also played the lead role in the 2018 feature film Level 16, which showed at multiple international film festivals. Without giving too much of the science-fiction thriller away, Douglas plays Vivien, a girl being raised in a dystopian feeling “school” that aims to educate the students in the art of being perfect young women, ready for families who will eventually adopt them.

After a series of quite heavy roles, Douglas is looking to tackle slightly lighter material.
“Moving forward, after playing such dark haunting characters, I think it would feel very freeing to do something comedic,” Douglas explained. “With that being said I choose roles for many different reasons. My heart lies in the drama and the angst; it’s how I love to move people.”
Katie Douglas’ height is causing a stir
Since Believe Me began reaching new audiences, many are curious about the young actress’ height, especially in comparison to the other actors in the film.
